A Method for the Detection of Narrowband Interferer

A novel method for the detection of narrowband interferer is presented, specifically designed for time-hopping impulse radio receivers. Closed form expressions for the performance have been derived and are presented employing the central limit theorem. The detection probability and false alarm probability have been considered as measure for the performance. The correctness of the closed form expressions has been validated by means of Monte-Carlo simulations. Finally, the impact of several parameters on the performance is discussed.
